As we embark on a New Year (and new decade), I remain in awe of the phenomenal success of the Northeast Regional Oddball Knitters of KnittingHelp.com and Ravelry. We Are Thankful...

Thankful for the recent huge delivery of twenty-five (25) preemie blankets by Spikey to CHOP...

Thankful for the ten (10) newest worsted weight blankets delivered to Bridgeport Hospital on December 6th...

Thankful to all who remain committed to the Northeast Regional Group of Oddball Baby Blanket Knitters...

We have done so much for so many. Your tireless efforts to improve the quality of life for the little ones has not gone unnoticed!

Many more blankets are on the needles! Our newest worsted weight blanket, Stars & Stripes, done in red, white and blue, is already 50% complete. In addition, we are launching three other blankets, Ladybug, Iris and Holiday Happiness. And, during my December break in sunny Florida, I will begin a few new worsted weight blankets.  Watch for more information about Circus Circus II, Be Mine, Jelly Bellies, Atlantic Waves, and Spearmint Candy.  Volunteers are always needed to help complete our blankets so watch for posts on this Blog, Ravelry or KnittingHelp.com.

Fifty is Nifty...

Or so the song goes here at school, when the children like to sing about "Fifty Nifty United States." I'd like to sing the praises of the Northeastern Oddball Knitters and your tireless efforts to knit both worsted weight and preemie blankets for the deserving little ones at Bridgeport Hospital and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

As it stands right now, we have another seven worsted weight blankets ready for delivery to the Pediatrics Unit at Bridgeport. Three more and we will hit "50," a landmark in only fifteen short months of working together as a group.

We do have a few blankets, however, with openings for knitters. Please consider helping us finish our newest blankets, Tranquility and Jack Frost.  Just send me a PM on Ravelry or KnittingHelp.com if you are interested in helping.

Welcome to Year Two!

As we begin our second year as the Northeast Regional Oddball Knitters, I remain humbled by the support shown for the little ones of Bridgeport Hospital's Pediatrics Unit and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Congratulations to all who have helped us support the families of the greater Bridgeport and Philadelphia regions.

Eight is Great: The Latest Completed Worsted Weight Baby Blankets!

Yes, it's true! We've completed another eight worsted weight oddball baby blankets for the dear little ones at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT. The divine knitters and crocheters of the Northeast Regional Group of Oddball Knitters have made another eight worsted weight baby blankets since Memorial Day 2009.
